Meet Our outstanding MSN Faculty

Barbara A. Bihm RN, DNS is associate professor of nursing. She holds a D.N.S. from Louisiana State University Medical Center and a M.S.N. from Boston College. Her research interests include elderly and health promotion needs. Her publications include a chapter on theoretical foundations of professional nursing in S. Delaune and P. Ladner’s Fundamentals of Nursing.

Kim Barrilleaux Brannagan, PhD., MBA, RN, MSN, BS Ed. Assistant Professor of Nursing. Bs Ed., Nicholls State University, 1986; M.B.A., 1993, Nicholls State University; BSN, 1993, Nicholls State University; MSN, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, 2001; Ph.D., 2006 Southern University and A&M College.

Heidi Landry, RN, DNS is an associate professor of nursing. Her Doctorate of Nursing Science and a Masters in Nursing degrees are from Louisiana State University Medical Center, with specialization in nursing administration. Dr. Landry has extensive experience in administration, education and home heatlh. Her research, grants and publications are in the area of home health nursing.

Michael Landry, RN, DNS is an associate professor of nursing. He has a both a Doctorate of Nursing Science and a Masters degree in nursing from Louisiana State University Medical Center. His MSN includes a specialization in nursing administration. He has extensive experience in administration in a variety of heath care organizations. He has many years of teaching experience and is a successful grant writer. His research and publications are in the area of home health nursing as well as nursing ethical and legal issues.

Mary Oriol RN, PhD is associate professor of nursing. She holds a Master of Science degree with a major in mental health nursing from University of Southern Mississippi and a DrPH in health systems management from Tulane University School of Public Health. She has extensive experience in leadership positions in health care organizations and in nursing education. Her research interests and publications include quality management, patient safety, and health systems.

Gail Tumulty RN, PhD is the interim director of the school of nursing and professor of nursing and coordinator of the Health Care Systems Management Program and teaches nursing leadership, health policy, and research. She received her master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Saint Louis University and her Ph.D. in nursing from the University of Texas at Austin. She is certified in nursing administration, advanced, and is noted for her international work to improve the profession of nursing, particularly with developing countries in the Middle East. Her research interest is health care system and work redesign and she has numerous publications on this topic, presenting both nationally and internationally.
